University of Vermont Assistant Professor Dr. Joseph Lasek
Dr. Joseph Lasek received his doctor of medicine (MD) from the State University of New York at Upstate Medical University. After receiving his MD, he completed a four year residency at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, including two years as the chief resident in psychiatry. Dr. Joseph Lasek began his career in 2006 as medical director for adult services with Howard Center in Burlington, a position he held until 2020, and as a clinical assistant professor in psychiatry at the University of Vermont. In this role he continues to teach and mentor both medical students and residents working in clinical settings as well as deliver lectures.
Dr. Lasek expanded his professional activities in 2022 by opening Solid Ground Psychiatry, PLC, a private psychiatric practice located in Shelburne. He has garnered several honors and accolades during his medical career, including the Howard Center Circles of Excellence Award and the Vermont Psychiatric Association Bruce A. Gibbard, MD Award for Clinical Excellence.
